How to merge PDFs on iPhone
Updated: 2026-10-14
Need to send three PDFs as one file from your phone? You don't need to install an app. Here are two free ways that work on any recent iPhone.
Way 1: the Files app
- Save the PDFs to the Files app (from Mail or Safari, tap Share › Save to Files). Put them in the same folder.
- In that folder, tap the ⋯ button, then Select, and tap each file in the order you want them combined.
- Tap ⋯ in the bottom corner and choose Create PDF. A new combined PDF appears in the same folder.
This works well for a few files. Controlling the order is fiddly, though, and you can't remove or rotate single pages.
Way 2: in Safari, with full control over the order
- Open Merge PDF in Safari and tap the dashed box to pick your files from Files, iCloud Drive or other storage apps.
- Use the arrows to put them in the right order.
- Tap Merge, then Download. The combined PDF is saved to your Downloads folder in Files.
Everything happens on the phone, so the documents aren't uploaded. If some pages are sideways or shouldn't be there, use Organize PDF to rotate, delete or reorder pages before you send the file.
Photos instead of PDFs?
To turn photos of receipts or documents into one PDF, use JPG to PDF. It accepts JPG and PNG photos straight from your camera roll. If your photos are HEIC (the iPhone default), convert them first with HEIC to JPG.
Add the site to your home screen (Share › Add to Home Screen) and it opens like an app, even without an internet connection.
