BetaEveryday documents convert well, but complex layouts can come out slightly different from Office. If something looks wrong, tell us with Feedback at the bottom of the page.
Spreadsheet pages

Converted on your device, nothing is uploaded. The first conversion downloads the converter once; after that it starts right away, even offline. Several files come back as one ZIP.

Why your files stay on your device

Nothing is uploaded

Most online PDF sites send your file to their servers. PDFMoss does the work inside your browser, so there is nothing to intercept, store or leak.

No limits on uses

There are no daily caps because there are no servers doing the work. Use any tool as often as you like.

Works on your phone

Every tool works on iPhone and Android: pick photos from your gallery and sign with your finger.

Original quality, works offline

Pages and images keep their quality, and once you install the app the tools work without an internet connection.

How to convert Word to PDF

  1. Drop one or more Word files on the page or click to choose them.
  2. Click Convert to PDF. The conversion runs on your device.
  3. Download the PDF, or a ZIP if you converted several files.

Frequently asked questions

Will my document look the same?

Usually yes. Standard fonts like Calibri, Cambria, Arial and Times New Roman are replaced with metric-compatible fonts, so lines and pages break in the same places. Very complex layouts can differ slightly; this tool is in beta.

Which files can I convert?

Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx) and PowerPoint (.pptx) files. Older .doc, .xls and .ppt files need to be saved in the newer format in Office first.

Do macros in my document run?

No. Macros are never run, and links to outside files or websites are not loaded.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. PDFMoss processes files inside your browser. The counter at the top of the page shows 0 B uploaded because nothing is sent.

Is PDFMoss free?

Yes. Every tool is free to use with no sign-up and no watermark on your files.
