PDF to Word

Turn a PDF back into a Word document you can edit, without uploading it. Paragraphs, fonts, tables, images and page layout are rebuilt as real Word content, not a picture of the page.

BetaMost documents convert well, but complex layouts may need some tidying in Word. If something looks wrong, tell us with Feedback at the bottom of the page.

Converted on your device, nothing is uploaded. Works best with PDFs made from a document; scanned pages come out as pictures, so run OCR PDF on them first.

Why your files stay on your device

Nothing is uploaded

Most online PDF sites send your file to their servers. PDFMoss does the work inside your browser, so there is nothing to intercept, store or leak.

No limits on uses

There are no daily caps because there are no servers doing the work. Use any tool as often as you like.

Works on your phone

Every tool works on iPhone and Android: pick photos from your gallery and sign with your finger.

Original quality, works offline

Pages and images keep their quality, and once you install the app the tools work without an internet connection.

Frequently asked questions

Which PDFs convert best?

PDFs created from a document, such as reports, contracts, letters and statements exported from Word or another program. Single-column layouts come out closest to the original; complex designs may need some tidying. This tool is in beta.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

A scan is a picture of text, so its pages come out as pictures. Run it through OCR PDF first, then convert the result to Word to get editable text.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

Yes. Type the password under the file name; the PDF is unlocked in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. PDFMoss processes files inside your browser. The counter at the top of the page shows 0 B uploaded because nothing is sent.

Is PDFMoss free?

Yes. Every tool is free to use with no sign-up and no watermark on your files.
